Douglas Macmillan Hospice – T & C complete charity walk

I would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all visitors to our stand at the Hillhead Show who made donations totalling in excess of £650 in support of our charity fundraising event on Friday 25th June – the 10 mile Midnight to Sunrise walk – to raise money for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice. I am pleased to say, the team comprising Melanie, Kimberly, Katie, Portia and I, all completed the 10 miles in less than three and a half hours. My colleagues and I enjoyed taking part along with a few thousand other ladies, in what you could say was a very different ‘night out on the town’.

Douglas Macmillan Hospice is a local, independent, registered charity for people in North Staffordshire and surrounding areas who are faced with cancer and other terminal illnesses. Care, help and support are given to patients, their families and carers at the Hospice in Blurton, in the community and at home. Douglas Macmillan do not charge for the care and help they provide, and rely on voluntary donations and some statutory funding to meet their running and development costs.

In total we raised £1600+ for the hospice (the money is still coming in), enjoyed the walk and camaraderie, and all agreed to make it an annual event.

All the best,

Christine Adams
