🌱Carma Update: Over 60,000 Trees and Planting Again!🌱

After a quiet period during the rainy season, we’re excited to share that tree planting through Carma is back underway - and this time with a milestone worth shouting about: we’ve officially passed 60,000 trees planted!
Why the Pause?
Carma pauses tree planting during the rainy season abroad because heavy and prolonged rain can actually harm young trees and make planting conditions unsuitable.
Waterlogging - Too much rain saturates the soil, depriving roots of oxygen and causing seedlings to rot before they establish.
Erosion & Soil Damage - Heavy downpours can wash away topsoil and newly planted saplings, especially on slopes.
Access Issues - Planting teams often can’t reach remote sites because roads and tracks become flooded or impassable.
Survival Rates - Trees planted during intense rains have a lower survival rate compared to those planted when the soil is moist but not waterlogged.
In many tropical and subtropical regions, tree planting is best done just before or at the start of the rainy season, so the young trees get regular water without being drowned or washed away.
What’s Happening Now?
With the planting season restarting, trees are once again going into the ground across UK sites and the world. This means the carbon-balancing efforts supported through our work at T&C Site Services are gaining momentum again - both in the UK and through carefully chosen overseas projects.
Our partnership with Carma ensures:
UK tree planting with native species, creating real woodland that benefits biodiversity.
Overseas tree planting that restores ecosystems and supports local communities.
Verified and visible impact through digital tools and tracking, so you can see how your carbon is being balanced in real time.
65,411 Trees - And Counting!
Breaking the 60,000 tree barrier is no small achievement. Every single one of those trees represents a step towards a greener future, and every job we complete contributes to that total. Whether it’s through UK-based woodland creation or global reforestation efforts, each tree is part of the legacy we’re building together.
A Shared Impact
Our commitment to carbon balancing through Carma is built into how we work. For every job we complete with new tyres being purchased, trees are planted to balance out the carbon impact.
“We don’t just offset carbon - we balance it. That’s a promise we make for every new tyre purchased.” - Carbon Balancing at T&C Site Services
