At T&C Site Services, we believe the future of the earthmover tyre industry lies in the hands of skilled, well-trained professionals and we’re proud to be shaping the future from the ground up.

Practical on the job training.
Practical on the job training.

We’re thrilled to be leading the charge in training the next generation of Earthmover Tyre Fitters through our Apprentice Earthmover Tyre Fitter - Level 2 programme. With a strong focus on hands-on experience, technical training and real-world responsibilities, our apprenticeship scheme is more than just a job - it’s the start of a long and rewarding career in the earthmover and off-the-road (OTR) industry.

We firmly believe that all Earthmover, Plant and OTR Tyre Technicians should be required to hold a nationally recognised qualification. This initiative will be based on best practices developed by T&C Site Services in collaboration with Roadside Safety Ltd, one of the NTDA’s approved training providers and is in the works. The accreditation would ensure safety, technical competence and industry-wide best practice.

This Level 2 apprenticeship is designed as the first step in a structured development programme, with progression to a Level 3 qualification of our design in the future. Our goal is not only to equip apprentices with the core skills and knowledge needed today but to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow. For those who show commitment, capability and drive, we’re committed to supporting them through advanced training and greater responsibility. This sets them up for long-term success in a highly specialised and in-demand field.

Why We’re Committed to Lead This

At T&C, we’ve built a reputation for excellence in the most demanding environments - from quarry sites to construction zones. But as the industry grows and evolves, so does the need for highly skilled, safety-conscious workers who understand the risks, equipment and level of responsibility required.

Earthmover tyre fitting is not your average job. These are some of the largest and heaviest tyres used anywhere in the world and handling them safely requires precision, discipline and training. Mistakes can be dangerous, even fatal, which is why we take training seriously.

We are not just filling roles - we are shaping skilled professionals.

Our apprenticeship programme allows us to pass down years of experience, ensure the highest safety standards and future-proof our workforce by developing talent from within. It is our way of ensuring the next generation is ready not only to do the job but to do it right.

We’re excited to lead because we know the value of what we do. Our work keeps vital industries moving, from mining to ports to waste. Without earthmover tyre fitters, nothing rolls and we’re proud to now be training the people who keep things rolling - safely and efficiently.

Why Do Apprenticeships Matter

We’ve seen a growing demand from schools, parents and career advisors for alternatives to traditional academic routes and yet many young people still don’t realise that specialist trades like earthmover tyre fitting is a real, viable and well-paid career path. It’s not commonly talked about in schools but this is a skilled profession with high responsibility, national qualifications and long-term job security. We’re passionate about raising awareness of this hidden industry and helping young people see that hands-on, technical careers like this are not just “plan B” options. They’re essential, rewarding and urgently need more skilled people to keep the country moving.

In an industry that demands safety, precision and technical knowledge, there’s no better way to train than on the job. At T&C, apprentices work alongside experienced Tyre Technicians in real environments like quarries, construction sites, ports and waste disposal facilities.

Our programme ensures apprentices gain practical skills in:

  • Removal and fitting of earthmover, OTR, pneumatic, filled and solid tyres

  • Repairing of tyres in-house and on-site

  • Use of hydraulic HIAB air tools

  • Knowledge of HSEQ policies and procedures

  • Delivering intended outcomes

And all this while earning a wage and working toward a nationally recognised qualification.

T&C Site Services – Proudly training the tyre technicians of tomorrow.
